"Go to the sign of Marvel's Axe, a dubious inn on the edge of the Thieves Quarter, in the City of Greyhawk, and look to your own wrist. If you perceive a bracelet and dangling dice, watch for the next throw in the war between Law and Chaos and be prepared to follow the compelling geas." -Signal

Runequest - Core Rulebook

From the web:

RuneQuest is an easy-to-play game of Fantasy Role-Playing. Participants create imaginary characters to go adventuring through a world of fantasy where magic is real, heroism the accepted norm, and virtue is rewarded! Characters begin as commoners or young noblemen and work or fight their way through trouble and adversity to reach greatness, collecting gold, magic, and fame along the way. They can develop as formidable fighters, clever magicians, solemn priests, alchemists, thieves, scholars, or all of them at once! There is no limit to what a character can do.

Runequest - RuneMasters

From the back cover:

Here are 45 Rune Lords, Rune Priests, and Rune Lord-Priests of the 15 cults surveyed in Cults of Prax. Each Character is completely individualized, experienced, equipped with spells, treasures, bound spirits, and so on.

But William R. Keyes' book is much more than a collection of statistics. He also discusses how Rune Masters should be created and about the logic of their growth, how each type of RuneMaster should be played, what their retinue (if any) should be, how a referee can organize his NPCs with coherent melee tactics and team strategy, etc.

Front and center! The complete range of basic human soldiery, from hard-bitten front-line warriors to abject and quivering draftees: in all, 105 complete characters pre-rolled by computer program and ready to play, as needed by Referee or new participant. Though the characters may be used individually, they come formed up into squads, with designated leaders and seconds-in-command, and accompanied by 11 warhorses to speed things along.

Use them as needed or plot out an entire military campaign: reinforce a hill, seize a waterhole, rescue the Heir, raid a camp, fight your way into (or out of) a city in flames! The possibilities for decisive action on a grand scale are endless and fascinating!

Included are 11 officers, 11 warhorses, 10 militiamen, 22 foot archers of greater or lesser ability, and 43 foot mercenaries, also of two capability ranges: an entire column of troops at your command!

Runequest - Cults of Prax

From the back cover:

Cults of Prax is RuneQuest's first major supplement, and it explores the dominant religions in a particular area of Genertela more closely than was possible to do before, beginning with the most primitive ancestor warship, passing though the tribal deities of the simple nomad barbarians, and exploring the intricacies of the more civilized Lightbringer cults with trader deities and a god of knowledge. Though all cults receive a broad range of capabilities from their divine relationships, there are some deities specializing in certain activities and areas, such as a war god, a city god, and the mysterious Lunar cult. Finally there are religions of non-human races including the elf cult and two troll cults.

Rolemaster: Treasure Companion

From the publisher:

The RMFRP Treasure Companion for ERA includes 79 treasure tables, 3 professions and 22 spell lists.

All treasure tables in RMFRP Treasure Companion will be added to the Treasure Generation module, from where you can create items (both magic and mundane) but also piles of coins and jewels.

Start from the Item Component table, choose from very poor to very rich items, and get rolling! You can also start directly from your chosen table, be it a Charged Item, Enchanted Armor or an Artifact.

To get some money, choose the Wealth Component table, and the gold will be yours.

This package also contains the Alchemists for each realm: Channeling, Essence and Mentalism.

To make sure the characters can create the items themselves, spell lists are also included: 4 general alchemy lists, 5 for each realm and 3 divine alchemy spell lists.

Rolemaster: Standard Rules

From the back cover:

The Rolemaster Standard System is a detailed state-of-the-art FRP system that adds realism and depth to your campaign without sacrificing playability. The Rolemaster Standard Rules are the cornerstone of this system and provide all the rules and guidelines that you need to play in one of the most realistic FRP systems available. Experience the ultimate in fantasy role playing, Rolemaster.

The Rolemaster Standard Rules provide:
  • A wide range of character creation choices - 20 professions, 16 cultures & races, and 36 training packages (spy, loremaster, diplomat, scout, etc.).
  • Material for unique character backgrounds, including: a wide variety of background options, a comprehensive system of talents and flaws, and a system of role traits.
  • A system of temporary and potential stats determined by using both assigned and random elements.
  • A skill development system that allows a character to develop ability in skills without absolute restrictions. Each skill is grouped with similar skills in a skill category. In addition to developing individual skills, each skill category can be developed, improving all of the skills in that category.
  • Complete, consolidated guidelines for resolving actions: moving maneuvers, static maneuvers (a table for each skill category), extraordinary spell casting attempts, and attacks (melee, missile, and spell)
  • Action sequencing based on how fast a character attempts to perform an action as a snap action (quick with a penalty), as a normal action, or as a deliberate action (slow with a bonus).
