"Go to the sign of Marvel's Axe, a dubious inn on the edge of the Thieves Quarter, in the City of Greyhawk, and look to your own wrist. If you perceive a bracelet and dangling dice, watch for the next throw in the war between Law and Chaos and be prepared to follow the compelling geas." -Signal

Olenar's Heartstone - Series One #5

From the back of the book:

The taverns here in Gellius are known for their ale, not their mercenaries or their strange clientele. Which is why you find it unnerving when the bartender points you out to a robed and bearded old man. The stranger bows to the bartender, then turns and approaches your table.

"Good evening, friends," he says in a thick accent you've never heard before. "My name is Llivarron, and acolyte of our Master Timmoran." His eyes flash with power as he says the name. "I have need of your... unique services. For it takes a brave soul to challenge the Black Band, and I hear that you are the bravest in all of Gellius."

Seeing your interest, Llivarron takes a seat.

"My fellow acolytes and I are pilgrims here in your land, traveling to the site where the Master first learned the secrets of magic. Part of our group, lead by the wizard Olenar, was to meet us here days ago, but has disappeared in the forest between here and Bandur. I fear that they have fallen to the scourge of the forest, the outlaws known as the Black Band.

"I need you to find Olenar and the others," Llivarron says, desperation creeping into his voice. "And I'm willing to make it worth your effort."

Raid on Tonwell - Series 1 #3

From the back cover:

Instant Adventure for 4-6 characters levels 5-7.

Up until two days ago, folks in the town where you've been staying only knew the nearby village of Tonwell for its magnificent cathedral. Two hundred years in the making, the cathedral is a monument to how much work and dedication a simple farming community can put into its house of worship.

But now, Tonwell has been overrun by savage barbarians. Burning and pillaging, they struck without warning or provocation, showing no mercy but reveling in atrocity. Now there are refugees from Tonwell here on the streets, terrified and desperate. They say the barbarians raiding their village enslaved all they could, and slaughtered those they couldn't.

One of the refugees, a priest named Carawyn, has discreetly spread the word that he has a secret mission for those who are brave enough to venture into Tonwell. His mission has your interest because, as all adventurers know, "secret" usually also means "lucrative."

Sign of the Skull - Series 2#15

Publisher Blurb:

An adventure for characters of 5th-7th level.

Lord Thomist frowns through his beard at your questions.

'The villages in the area are independent at the moment, but I have initiated discussions with them about swearing fealty to my banner. That is why it is crucial that this threat - whatever it is - be eliminated immediately. I can't afford to send troops away from my sworn lands, so I want you to go out under my banner as a visible symbol of my protection. All we know is what has been reported by travelers and verified by my men: Two villages have been attacked and everyone in them - men, women, children, and even livestock - have been killed. To the youngest child, they were decapitated, their heads flayed of all flesh and their skulls staked around the town. There are no surviving witnesses, but whatever killed them must have given very little warning. The bodies were found mostly in their beds. There seems to have been no sign of resistance or flight. If this is a mundane assault you have my command to slay all offenders. If it is some kind of vile sorcery you must root out the source and come to me for help if you cannot handle it yourselves.'

Thomist sighs suddenly and his shoulders slouch forward. 'We have no true leads to aid you. We have no idea what could do this, or where it will strike next. But it is evil and it must be stopped.'

The Thief's Gold - Series 2 #14

From the Back of the Book:

Governor Drunn tosses a handful of gold coins on the table in front of you. "This is what I'm talking about," he huffs. The shining coins are stamped with the image of a hand in a sack, rather than the city's seal as you would have expected. "It's the bloody thieves and their damned guild that did it! They broke into the treasury a week ago and emptied it of every last gold coin. Then they re-minted it with their symbol and handed it out on the streets. We acted as quickly as we could and confiscated whatever stolen coin we could find, but it was impossible to get it all. To make matters worse, now people are using it as legal currency in the markets - the traders from outside the city don't know the difference. So now we look like the bad guys for taking people's money and the blasted thieves look like heroes - even though they've stolen the people's money from their government and handed out only a small fraction of it. "We've had problems with this guild before and have made efforts to shut it down. The City of Kaaliqar has even passed new laws with harsher penalties for guild-related crimes, but things have only gotten worse! Out own knights and guardsmen can do very little about the situation - no one will give out any information about the thieves or the gold. I'm relying on you to track down the thieves, capture them, and recover the stolen gold. "The thieves are passing out more gold every day - you must act quickly!"

The Broken Plain #7

Publisher Blurb:

An adventure for characters of 3rd-5th level.

Throughout the summer months, orc warbands have been striking out of the Broken Plain across the Nonddharya River, raiding human settlements all along the frontier. For weeks, as you have traveled throughout the North, the seemingly endless hordes of orcs are all anyone talks about. Farmers fear for their crops and livestock, villagers fear for their families and homes, and soldiers fear for their lives. One band in particular, the Bloody Hatchet tribe, has become infamous throughout the region. The tribe's warchief, Rexas, is reputedly an orc-ogre halfbreed and a fearsome opponent on the battlefield. Local legend has it that Rexar has sacked more than a dozen villages, specifically targeting churches and shrines and stealing their sacred icons before burning them to the ground. Now, the word is out that orcs have been spotted in the forests near Goodland, a small village on the Nonddharya River. Lord Reisling, the frontier baron whose responsibility it is to protect Goodland, is reportedly offering bounties and rewards to anyone who can turn back the orcs and protect the village. There have been sightings of Rexar's bloody banner in the area. Can you stop the orog warrior from raising it over the burning ruins of Goodland?

Larry Niven's Ringworld

From the web:

"The Ringworld science fiction role-playing game was published by Chaosium in 1984, using the Basic Role-Playing (BRP) for its rules and Larry Niven's Ringworld novels as a setting.

The players initially play explorers from Known Space, sent as scouts to the Ringworld. They can be anthropologists, artists, doctors, police, or even zealots, who will explore the mysteries of this huge artificial world and its inhabitants. Basic characters can be humans from a dozen planets of Human Space, Puppeteers, or Kzin. Later play can see characters from Ringworld species, such as the (so-called) Ghouls, Vampires, Giants, Sea People, and others.

Only two publications were ever published, the Ringworld role-playing game box set itself, and the Ringworld Companion, both in 1984 by Chaosium. The magazine Different Worlds, issue 37, featured a Ringworld adventure, "Louis Wu & His Motley Crew."

The Ringworld role-playing game box set was titled "Larry Niven's Ringworld: Roleplaying Adventure Beneath the Great Arch", referring to the way the Ringworld looked from its interior surface. It came in a box set with four books: the Explorer Book, Technology Book, Gamemasters Book, and Creatures Book, a sheet of cardboard miniatures, reference and character sheets, and a set of dice: 2d20, 1d8, and 2d6."

GW1: Legion of Gold

From the back cover:

Excerpts from notes made by Ydal Eilffik, professor at the University of Horn:

"All know that there is much to worry about in these difficult times, but the skies have grown darker in the past few weeks, as if an omen of destruction hangs over us all.

"Baron Jemmas, the Warder, has been very preoccupied in the recent weeks. This bothers me, for the mind of the ruler of the Barony of Horn ought to be clear, since his decisions affect us all.

"I can only hazard a guess at the problem that afflicts him for only vague rumors of the trouble have reached my ears.

"In the past several weeks there have been raids on several outlying towns of the Barony by mysterious golden marauders. Whether these creatures are robots, mutants or men, none can be sure for reports are scarce. The monsters are rumored to have struck from nowhere, then vanished without a trace, leaving only destruction in their wake.

"The Warder fears that unless something is done the very heart of the Barony will fall victim to this threat. It is rumored that he had offered a substantial reward for the destruction of this 'Legion of Gold;. I only hope it is not already too late."

This is the first GAMMA WORLD™ module to be produced by the Game Wizards at TSR Hobbies, Inc. This module includes the main Legion of Gold adventure, several mini-adventures which lead up to it, background information, suggestions for the referee, a special players' map and numerous referee's maps.

Skyrealms of Jorune

From the back of the box:

Written by sages and high-ranking officials of Burdoth, the Tauther Guide is a handbook for Jorune explorers. It combines the warnings of a survival guide, the wonders of a cultural guide, and the practicalities of daily life to present a balanced picture of Jorune to all who venture beyond their familiar city or country surroundings. Citizenship, laws, etiquette and languages are explored. Heavily illustrated, with maps.

Guides players through character generation, dice, skills, the three races of humans (humans, muadra, boccord), energy manipulation, combat, and history of the planet from two different cultural perspectives. Human culture, law, and citizenship are discussed.

Written especially for game masters, with an omniscient perspective of the planet and information that players receive in the Tauther Guide. Has an extensive encounter generation system unique to Jorune. Technologies, weather generation, terrains, civilizations, history and creature descriptions are covered -- with many non-intelligent creature illustrations that are not in the Tauther Guide. Heavily illustrated, with maps.

The Sky Realms Campaign is a complete beginning Jorune Adventure that takes place on a newly discovered sky realm floating above the planet. Players venture through areas mapped especially for the campaign. Detailed encounters, new items and energy-manipulation techniques are provided. A step-by-step guide to refereeing Jorune.

RolePlaying on Jorune
Jorune is a place where names like Iscin and Maytrish inspire admiration, where the thailiers of the huge Corondon are cast into blades, where Shanthas rule a technology invisible to humans. The referee is not the absolute controller of the players' fate.

Encounters and Combat
Referees rejoice! You won't be stranded with volumes of Jorune material that you can't mold into encounters. Examples of encounters with every type of creature are provided, and all can be generated with a few simple rolls. Our tables create, for example: An injured, scragger-infested croid, remedying his wounds. The possibilities are endless.
Our combat system strips the hit-points out of gaming, and puts the action back in. Wounds are assessed for everything from thombo kicks to blaster shots. Adding a few numbers together, and thinking in the role-playing spirit are what it takes to master the Jorune combat system.

Ambient Energy
Jorune is permeated by an exotic form of energy unlike any found on Earth. Some creatures have learned to utilize this power in forms both destructive and benign - most manipulation techniques are skills which must be learned. The road to mastery is long, but the powers are great.
