"Go to the sign of Marvel's Axe, a dubious inn on the edge of the Thieves Quarter, in the City of Greyhawk, and look to your own wrist. If you perceive a bracelet and dangling dice, watch for the next throw in the war between Law and Chaos and be prepared to follow the compelling geas." -Signal

Vampire: The Masquerade (1st Edition) (1991)

From the web:

Vampire: The Masquerade was an original RPG allowing players to explore a dark world of modern vampires in a Gothic-Punk world. The game took players away from traditional elements of RPGs and vampiric lore and into a modern 1990s view of style and performance which was much darker and bleaker than before.

It was designed on a Storyteller system using the dice pool as a main mechanism. The success of this original game lead to a series of similar horror games covering Werewolves, Mummies, Demons and other horror favourites. It also encouraged RPGs to try the newly developing Live Action Role Playing (LARP) scene (it being easier to dress up as a Goth Vamp than an Elf.)

Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set (First Edition) (1977)

From the preface:

This book is based upon the original work published in 1974 and three supplementary booklets published in the two year period after the initial release of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. It is aimed solely at introducing the reader to the concepts of fantasy role playing and the basic play of this game. To this end it limits itself to basics. The rules contained herein allow only for the first three levels of player progression, and instructions for the game referee, the "Dungeon Master," are kept to the minimum necessary to allow him to conduct basic games. This is absolutely necessary because the game is completely open-ended, is subject to modification, expansion, and interpretation according to the desires of the group participating, and is in general not bounded by the conventional limitations of other types of games. This work is far more detailed and more easily understood than were the original booklets nonetheless, for with it, and the other basic components of the game, any intelligent and imaginative person can speedily understand and play DUNGEONS & DRAGONS as it was meant to be played. Players who desire to go beyond the basic game are directed to the ADVANCED DUNGEON & DRAGON books.

Marvel Super Heroes

From the web:

Based on the Comic books by Marvel, this license was given to TSR.

Marvel Superheroes (MSHRPG) aka "the FASERIP system" is a role playing game set in the Marvel Universe, first published by TSR under license from Marvel Comics in 1984. In 1986, TSR published an expanded edition, entitled the Marvel Superheroes Advanced Game. Both editions were written by Jeff Grubb, and both use essentially the same game system.

The basic game was designed to let players assume the roles of superheroes from Marvel Comics, such as Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Hulk, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and many others. The simplest version, found in the 16-page "Battle Book" of the Basic Set, contains a bare-bones combat system sufficient to resolve comic book style superheroic fights.

Dwarven Kingdoms of Krynn (1993)

From the back of the box:

Among all the peoples of Krynn, none build such lasting structures, nor labor so diligently to create and expand their domains, as do the dwarves. From the initial dark caverns of Kal-Thax to the vast and multi-tiered metropolis of Thorbardin, these sturdy folk have delved a series of magnificent dwellings.

Some of these domains have been torn into ruin by the oft-wrenching history of Krynn, while others continue to grow and flourish, reaching glories undreamed of a generation or two beforel Yet they all have their places along the River of Time, and whether ancient or modern, they each illustrate the determination nad skill of these sturdy dwarves.
From the Observations of Astinus

At last, the secrets of the dwarves revealed!

The two booklets contained in this boxed set hold information that has never before been collected in one place. Songs of the Loremaster, for players to read, chronicles the history of the dwarven race on Krynn, from their first appearance on the planet's surface to their withdrawal following the Catclysm. A World in Stone presnet each kingdom in turn for DM's eyes only, describing how each cavern was delved, what each clan's world-view encompassed, and what each kingdom's fate has been.

The four mapsheets are invaluable aids for those who wish to campaign in these hallowed halls; modular styling allows endless variations of dwarven cities, large and small.
The Tales of the Lance boxed set is suggested, although not required, for full enjoyment of this accessory.

Series III Number 7: The Weeping Tree (2001)

From the back of the book:

Your long journey is coming to an end at least for one night. You approach the woodland town of Blackbrook, a small village you've passed through before.

Walking along the trail leading into the center of Blackbrook, you can feel the sense of doom that shrouds this village and its people. The villagers seem weak and underfed, and they stare distantly into nothingness.

You hear a commotion coming from the center of the village at the small community well. Several villagers surround a young woman in robes who frantically pleads, "You must listen to me! It is the well water that pollutes this village, and all of you must stop drinking from it! Please listen to me!"

The villagers pressing in around her look tired, ill, and desperate. They're obviously no warriors and their pitchforks, woodsman's axes, and broomsticks make poor weapons. But they just as clearly mean to do the young woman bodily harm if she remains standing between them and the well.

The woman looks hopefully at you as you approach, worry etched in the lines of her face.

"I've tried to tell them! The well water is poisoned, corrupted by some terrible evil! But they won't listen to me ... please help us!"

Jerimond's Orb (2000)

From the front cover:

Jerimond's Orb is a d20 System adventure booster designed for 4-6 characters levels 2-4. It can be played as a stand-alone adventure or dropped into any ongoing campaign setting.

From the back cover:

Ten days ride north of the great city, there is a small town named Treefall. Up until recently, this town was well known for its rich harvests, happy villagers, and prosperous weather.

These days, however, the once-proud details from Treefall have turned darker. Instead of tales of unending prosperity, you hear hushed whispers of a great curse that has struck the once-happy village. Word has it that, where once roamed contented cattle, now strange beasts hunt by the moon's cold light and terrorize the hapless region.

You have scoffed with the others at these stories. Despite the things you've seen in your adventures with your friends, the thought that such ill might befall such a sleepy little town strikes you as terribly unlikely. There is plenty of evil in the world, true, but there are also much bigger and better targets. But tonight, despite the firmness of your disbelief, the stories come to find you.

You have been traveling north along the roads on your own business, enjoying the rich fall colors and warm afternoons. Your camp is small and secure, with a roaring fire and meat cooking over the flame. It's one of those crisp autumn days that makes you long for a warm hearth after a long ride in the cool air. Still, the fire is good enough for now, and you and your friends have a wonderful meal, talking and singing and laughing, anticipating a restful sleep beneath the blanket of stars.

Until the beast attacks.
